Cristina Mantelli was born in Bologna, Italy, on 3 July 1959.

She obtained her doctor degree in jurisprudence on 15 March 1984 at the University of Bologna, with a doctoral thesis on commercial law.

She registered with the Bologna Bar Association on 9 April 1987,  the year in which she established her own law firm.

In the course of her professional career, she has attended numerous seminars and courses, both in the legal field and in other relevant areas, thereby enhancing her knowledge particularly in respect of the topics which are the subject of her work.

Since 2003 she is contributing to a number of law journals.
